I was the tax specialist and the in-house attorney for a large family office. I serviced over 140 individuals, 145 trusts, nine private foundations and numerous corporations and partnerships. I recently was very active in establishing a private foundation that has over $200 million in assets and 16 employees. I did estate planning and research for members of the family. I frequently did research on a wide variety of issues ranging from land use to international business law. My clients are a very diverse group of people which results in my being able to use both my legal and accounting background in many different situations and ways.

Personal Financial Services-Wealth Transfer Specialist. I specialized in individual personal financial consulting and compliance, as well as trust and estate planning. I was also active in the corporate executivesí personal financial planning programs. I services several high net-worth family groups. I was also responsible for reviewing all the gift tax returns, which have non-cash gifts or gifts over $20,000, for the Midwest region. I designed and oversaw the quality control procedures for gift tax compliance. I developed and implemented in-house training for the staff in both the wealth transfer area and gift tax preparation. I also developed and implemented training for the staff on specialized software used for the wealth transfer practice. I was responsible for every day client contact, IRS audits, and delegating projects to staff people. I oversaw the preparation of individual, trust and family limited partnership income tax returns, and estate and gift tax returns. I routinely coordinated the services of tax people, outside attorneys, bankers, etc. as necessary to service a client. As a wealth transfer specialist I was very involved in gift and estate planning for high net-worth individuals all over the Midwest region.
